Further Instruction To Save Us From Ourselves November 11, 2007

I like reading instructions.  Mostly it’s because I never think they’re written well enough to follow and I like to fancy that I can do better.  Other times it’s because I’m amused by what people think requires an instruction.  The following instruction from a bag of sunflower seeds falls into the latter category.

HOW TO EAT DAVID SEEDS

Crack the shell with your teeth, eat the seed and spit the shell.  Experienced seeders pop a handful of seeds in their mouth and store them in one cheek, then transfer a seed over to the other side with their tongue, crack it, then eat the seed and spit the shell.

Dan hates instruction booklets so much that I end up putting together every new item we purchase for our children, for our house, for anything. Its just not worth the frustration for him to try to decipher those horrible pictures and crappy writing. Does it make me a twisted person that I can usually decipher them?

Um . . . yes, it does. But we knew that.
